Life in All Its Fullness – A Special Saturday in Hernhill

At Hernhill Church of England Primary School, our vision of “Life in all its fullness” is about far more than the classroom. It’s about giving children rich, meaningful experiences that help them grow in confidence and character.

Saturday 21st March was one of those truly special days where this vision came to life in the most wonderful ways.

Our day began with an unforgettable opportunity for three of our Collective Worship Monitors – Fletcher, Robin and Martha – who were invited to meet Sarah Mullally at Ospringe C of E Primary School. She was walking the 140km Becket Camino from St Paul’s Cathedral to Canterbury Cathedral, marking her journey from Bishop of London to Archbishop of Canterbury.

Meanwhile, back in Hernhill, history came alive at St Michael’s Church. Mrs Alexander and I were delighted to attend the unveiling of the new Battle of Bossenden Wood plaque. We were incredibly proud of Frankie, Lora and Sophie from Year 6, who delivered a powerful performance of The Ballad of Bossenden.

And the excitement didn’t stop there! Over at Faversham Town Football Club, Mr Sharp accompanied a group of pupils – Josh, Rocco, Aidan, Jack, Tommy, Albert and Millie – for a once-in-a-lifetime experience as matchday mascots. Not only did they walk onto the pitch in front of a packed crowd, but they also had the thrill of taking penalties – an unforgettable moment that they will no doubt remember for years to come.

Three very different experiences, all happening on the same day, yet each one capturing what we mean by “life in all its fullness”. We are so proud of all our children for embracing these moments so wholeheartedly and representing Hernhill with such pride.
