Term 6... So Far!

It’s been a memorable start to our final term of the year - and not just because of the soaring temperatures!

Like many schools across the country, we have had to adapt our plans as the hot weather arrived. Although we were disappointed to postpone both Sports Day and our Colour Run, we have been incredibly proud of how resilient our children, staff and families have been. Sometimes you simply have to change the plan, and that's exactly what we've done.

One of the highlights of the term was taking our school choir to London's West End to see Wicked. It was a wonderful reward for all the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout the year. The children were captivated from start to finish.

Our Year 6 pupils have also returned from an unforgettable week on the 'Costa del Ashford' - our five-night residential at PGL! From climbing and raft building to silent discos and team challenges, the children embraced every opportunity and made memories that will stay with them for years to come. With only a few weeks left at Hernhill, they are now beginning to
prepare for the exciting move to secondary school.

Meanwhile, Year 1 have been making the most of the cooler temperatures beneath the trees, enjoying regular Forest School sessions where they've continued learning and exploring. There's still plenty to look forward to before the end of term, including our PTAFA discos, the rearranged Sports Day and Colour Run, celebration events and, of course, saying a fond
farewell to another fantastic Year 6. We'll share all those highlights in our final round-up before the summer holidays.
