Y6 visit the Houses of Parliament
Our Trip to the Houses of Parliament
Wednesday 21st March
We began our journey at Faversham train station, buzzing with excitement. We felt like V.I.Ps because we had reserved seats at the back of the train. Lots of us had games and a little amount of sweets. Our trip was one hour long, we went from Faversham to London Victoria. When we got off of the train, we were raring to go to our first destination, Buckingham Palace. When we arrived at the Palace it was extremely crowded and we only just managed to see the bear-skin hats. We walked past Buckingham Palace to the Guards Museum. We had a blast from the past.
After that we started our journey to the Houses of Parliament. We saw lots of the landmarks and statues. As we finished our journey, we took our first step into Parliament. We had a tour of the rooms and we got to see a debate. After that we the class talked to our M.P. Helen Whately and asked her lots of questions!
Soon it was time to leave the Houses of Parliament. On way back to the train station we more landmarks and statues. Then one of our teachers called out that there was five minutes to get on the train. Dramatically people in our class started worrying about not getting on to the train in time. So we decided to run to the train station. It was really funny when we ran into London Victoria because lots a pedestrians had to run to the side because the year 6 children were coming through. We made it to the train station just in time......and we travelled back home peacefully.
